Jessica Kairé

Jessica Kairé is a Guatemalan artist and educator based in New York. She is also the co-founder of NuMu in Guatemala City, an egg-shaped museum that aims to satiate the lack of other contemporary art institutions in the country. In her individual practice, she alternates between sculpture, performance, video and installation to create works that solicit an active relationship between artwork and viewer. Her work has been shown at museums, institutions and galleries including SculptureCenter, New York; Artissima XYZ, Turin, Italy; the 22nd Bienal de Arte Paiz, Guatemala, the 12th Mercosul Biennial (Porto Alegre, Brazil); Proyectos Ultravioleta, Guatemala City; StorefrontTV, Storefront for Art and Architecture, New York; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, California; Museo Jumex, Mexico City; SITElines.2018 Biennial, Santa Fe, NM; 2da Gran Bienal Tropical, Loíza, Puerto Rico, and El Museo del Barrio, New York.
