Marina Vinnik: I was born in 1984 in Kemerovo, USSR, and studied at the Russian State University of Cinematography (2006–2011), the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig (2016–2018), and I am now writing my PhD work Woman as artist in the Russian Empire, Soviet Union, and modern Russia in the University of Leipzig. I worked as a documentary film maker, video artist, and curator in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Finland, and Austria. Recently I have become more focused on academic research. Today I live in Leipzig and engage with topics such as feminist art history, visual representations of women, post-Soviet space, postcolonial as well as decolonial theory, and have recently started investigating post-humanism, new materialism, and object-oriented ontology.
